In 1982 George Lucas commissioned photographer Brian Griffin to make portraits of the stars on the set of Return of the Jedi. A small studio was build on the Estree Studio lot from which Brian could work. The stars would visit the studio in costume between takes or during their lunch breaks. Brian shot some unusual portraits of Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Dave Prowse and Peter Mayhew. Carrie Fisher was photographed in her Ewok Village costume as well as her famous Slave Leia outfit. And after the worlds most famous cliffhanger “I am your father”, Brian also shot some gorgeous but ominous images of Mark Hamill and Dave Prowse as father and son.
